Winchester Hospice – Raising £3.7million to open in Summer 2021, providing care and support for people in and around Winchester.
The Big Push campaign is focusing on raising the final 10 per cent of a £3.7million target needed to get Winchester Hospice open in Summer 2021. Winchester Hospice will be there for you and your family – supporting you with care and compassion, delivering care on site and in the community 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We know that Every Moment Matters. A local hospice in Winchester will reduce the amount of time patients and their families have to spend travelling to receive hospice care or visit loved ones, so more time can be spent with the people who mean the most to you. Winchester Hospice will allow residents in and around Winchester to easily access local, specialist palliative and end of life hospice care. As well as providing in-patient care, Winchester Hospice will act as a hub for specialist palliative care in the community through outpatient services, therapies and caring for people in their own homes. Winchester Hospice will provide a ‘hospice at home’ service through the night, supporting people being cared for wherever they choose. The hospice and the doctors, nurses and therapists who will work at Winchester Hospice will provide patients with excellent support at the end of their lives, but they will also support patients to live well. Most patients will come to the hospice for symptom control and then go home again. Patients will be able to receive medications that can’t be administered at home. Hospices provide safe, comfortable and relaxed environments for patients and their families to enjoy time together. All rooms will be en-suite, and there will be kitchen facilities and sitting rooms. All of this is only possible with the support of our local community, so we are incredibly grateful for your support.
