Honeypot is the only UK charity to provide a consistent level of support for young carers in the 5-12 age range, and our track record extends back nearly 25 years Our early-intervention, Wrap-Round service offering is designed to provide relief, protect mental health, and develop social confidence, and is delivered in a safe, nurturing environment. Each year, we are able to reach more than 2,500 children through our programme; provide relief, help protect their mental health and grow their confidence. We urgently require funding to provide our Wrap-Round services to young carers (including 427 children from across Hampshire) which include: Online Respite Breaks. We run multi-day creative workshops for groups of children to alleviate stress and bring joy and diversity into the life of a young carer. Themed around drama, dance, art and photography, these workshops receive amazing feedback from parents and children alike and are in great demand. Digital Outreach & Inclusion. We now also provide innovative online groups for Honeypot children in the evenings, five days a week, over a period of 6-12 weeks. These groups tackle loneliness and isolation while building the children’s confidence and self- esteem. Social and Emotional Active Learning (SEAL) and online SEAL. Many young carers lack confidence and belief that they can succeed in school and, consequently, fall behind in their education. Our newly launched online learning breaks aim to build resilience and self-belief, and help young carers succeed in their education. Wellbeing Support Fund. As an integral part of our wrap around service, we want to provide small grants to young carers from deprived backgrounds with life’s essential items. Whether it is providing a back to school kit with new blazer, shoes, satchel and lunch box or a washing machine, these grants make the world of a difference to the children and their families. Donations can be made here: https://www.honeypot.org.uk/donate (please mention Winchester Christmas Market when you donate, thank you). We also have knitted bees and bee themed Christmas decorations which can be purchased by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org Thank you, your support will help Honeypot young carers take a break from the responsibility of looking after someone they love and make the most of their one chance at childhood.
