Hand thrown and decorated stoneware in rich blues reds and some with gold lustre.
The Pottery was established thirty five years ago and is situated in the beautiful and historic village of Selborne in Hampshire.
Each piece of stoneware is hand thrown on the wheel and trimmed afterwards to create beautifully crafted and tactile pieces. Rich blue pigments and copper red glaze are hand decorated over a Shino glaze before firing. The kiln is gas fired to 1300c in a reducing atmosphere which creates the richness and depth to the glazes that we use. Some of the pots are decorated with precious metal and real gold lustres which add a luxurious opulence not normally found on studio pottery.
Pots can be ordered through the website www.selbornepottery.co.uk but also you can contact me by mobile phone 07798530511 and have a virtual tour of the showroom with a video call (Facetime or WhatsApp video) and hand pick from the shelves. From the 2nd December the Pottery will be back open to the public where you can purchase direct.
All the pots are dishwasher safe and microwaveable and are meant to be used and enjoyed (apart from the lustre range).
The team and I look forward to hearing from or seeing you soon!
